After 9/11, this installation in the USA was described as a “first-world catastrophe camp.”(10) Erected as a temporary environment straight out of the shipping crates, thanks to its reflective barrier tapes, signage, flashing street lamps, and spluttering coffee machines it “bears witness” to an urban heart attack. Emergency tents and surveillance tents indicate that a reconnaissance is in progress. During the slide projections of the urban upheaval, coffee and cookies are provided as “emergency supplies.” The installation shows the mounting chaos in a “situation of collective upheaval” whereby subjective factors gain the upper hand.(11)
