Die Filmkulissen, die John Lautner für James-Bond-Filme entwarf, sind legendär. Es handelt sich dabei um eine an einem kritischen Punkt angelangte Architektur, bei der Zerstörung vor Aufbau rangiert. Der konkrete, schwer bestimmbare Zustand verweist sowohl auf die vergangene wie auch auf die aktuelle und zukünftige Wirkung einer Aktion: Geschichte und Geschichtliches im Countdown einer Narrative. Eine hin- und hergeschobene, temporäre Architektur.

In the James Bond films, the architecture of John Lautner is legendary. It deals with a critical state of architecture when destruction is ranked above construction. The concrete state of affairs is difficult to define, with allusions not only to the past but also to the present and future effects of an action: history and the historical is in a narrative countdown. It is a temporary architecture that is pushed back and forth.
