Reclining Figure: Position Yourself, Bungalow, bezieht sich auf die neue Aufteilung des Platzes vor der Akademie der Künste, vom öffentlich frei zugänglichen Raum hin zur geschlossenen Hofsituation des Bungalows. Der Hof und die Skulptur Die Liegende von Henry Moore lassen einen japanischen Garten mit stilisierter Wasserfläche oder Ruhebank anklingen. Japanische Kultur war ein Vorbild der europäischen Moderne.
In den Holzfußboden des Gartens ist eine Matte aus Kunstleder eingelassen, auf die sich die Besucher setzen können. Die Maße der Matte beziehen sich auf den Sockel der Skulptur von Henry Moore.

Reclining Figure: Position Yourself, Bungalow refers to the new arrangement of the square in front of the Akademie der Künste in Berlin, ranging from the open and freely accessible space to the enclosed courtyard setting of the bungalow. The
courtyard and the sculpture of Reclining Figure by Henry Moore are reminiscent of a Japanese garden with a stylized water feature or a relaxing bench. Japanese culture served as a role model for European modernism. A leatherette mat for
visitors to sit on has been set into the garden’s wooden floorboards. The mat has the same dimensions as the base of the sculpture.

Stadt im Regal / City in Shelves

STADT IM REGAL (Berlin) realisiert seit 1996, parallel zu künstlerischen Einzelpositionen, gemeinsam als Gruppe international Ausstellungen und Projekte zum Thema Stadtumbau, Architektur und Wohnen. Die Themen ergeben sich aus gesellschaftlichen, aktuellen und städtischen Bezügen und stehen in einem direkten Zusammenhang zu dem jeweiligen Ausstellungsort.
STADT IM REGAL sind: Tina Born, Ursula Döbereiner, Antje Dorn, Kerstin Drechsel, Friederike Feldmann, Heike Klussmann, Valeska Peschke, Birgit Schlieps, Katharina Schmidt, Markus Strieder, Daniela von Waberer.
BUNGALOW ist der Nachbau eines 1:1 Modell des Bungalows Typ A, Nr.39 von Eduard Ludwig anlässlich der Ausstellung Z 2000. Der Originalbungalow war der Teil der Internationalen Bauausstellung in Berlin von 1957, einer Vision für »die Stadt von Morgen«. Der Holznachbau des Bungalows - 100 m Luftlinie entfernt vom Originalstandort - vor der Akademie der Künste rahmt den Platz mit den vorhandenen Treppen, der Henry Moore Figur und dem Pflanzfeld ein und lässt das originale moderne Raumkonzept neu zur Geltung kommen. Durch verschiedene Um- und Einbauten werden die strukturellen Vorgaben des Bungalows zum Thema Wohnen von der Künstlergruppe Stadt im Regal neu interpretiert.

City in Shelves is a self-curated artist group realizing international exhibitions since 1996. The projects are concerned with the theme of city- planning, architecture and living and heterogenity. The themes of the artistic, social, actual and context to the city are always worked out site- specific. BUNGALOW is a reproduction of a M 1:1 model of a Bungalows  Typ A, Nr.39 by architect Eduard Ludwig on the occasion of the exhibition Z 2000 at the Academy of Fine Arts, Belin. The original bungalow was a part of the international building exhibition in Berlin in 1957, a vision for »The City of Tomorrow«. The replica in wood of the bungalow - in a 100 m air-line distance removed from its original location - was positioned in front of the academy. It frames the outer entrance area with the existing stairs, the Henry Moore sculpture and the field of plants and highlights the original concept of modern space. The structural defaults of the bungalow are reinterpreted by different conversions and installations concerning the space of a bungalow as a specific private living environment.
